Aliyu is the Acting Managing Director /CEO of Apt Pension Funds Managers Limited (Apt Pensions).
He began his employment career in 2003 with the Independent National Electoral Commission, where he worked for four years as Systems Analyst and Head of Information Technology Department. He subsequently took appointment with Apt Pensions in 2007 as a pioneer staff.
Aliyu has over 14 years experience in the Nigerian Pension Industry out of which 12 years was in top management. His competence, commitment, integrity and innovation earned him a rapid promotion up to the rank of a General Manager in 2021.
He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK and a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management obtained with distinction from Stratford College of Business and Management, Shropshire, Telford, UK. Prior to that, he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics (Ed) from the famous Ahmadu Bello University Zaria - Nigeria. He also earned a Diploma in Mathematics and another Diploma with distinction in Software and Web Engineering.
Aliyu has undergone a number of senior management and executive leadership programs in Nigeria, United Kingdom and USA. He is an alumni of Henley Business School University of Reading, Henley –on-themes Berkshire UK, Lord Ashcroft Business School Cambridge, Cambridgeshire UK, London School of Marketing, London UK. He is a Fellow and associate member of the American Academy of Financial Management (AAFM) and Institute of Directors (IoD), Nigeria respectively.
Aliyu is married, has children and enjoys gardening and coffee roasting activities as hobby.
Asiru L. Abayomi holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Agro Economics from the University of Ibadan. He is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Nigerian Institute of Management and Institute for Health Insurance and Managed Care of Nigeria. Abayomi is a seasoned Accountant and Auditor who worked with reputable Audit firms in Nigeria with over 15 years audit experience gained at KPMG Audit (Now Akintola Williams Deloitte & Co) and Muhtari Dangana & Co. He has been involved in the audit of many Banks, Government parastatals (such as NNPC, PHCN etc), Pension Funds Administrators, United Nations Assignments and other private institutions.
Yahaya joined the Pension industry in 2014 after spending over 2 decades in the Banking sector with the last being Unity Bank Plc where he left as Regional Manager of Abuja Central supervising over 10 branches of the Bank. He has cognate experiences in Private Banking, Corporate Banking, International Banking, and Retail/Corporate Credits with a bias toward syndicated portfolio structuring. He also at various times held the positions of Branch/Regional Manager respectively.
He joined the services of former APT Pensions Ltd in 2014 as Business Development Manager Abuja, where he was assigned the responsibilities of repositioning the department/company for growth. He immediately leveraged his experiences from the Banking sector by putting in place close-knitted relationship management, and service excellence, thereby building stronger customer loyalty and enhancing its portfolio. He last held the position of Head of Business Development of the company before its eventual merger with former Tangerine Pensions Ltd. He now holds the position of Head, Business Development, North for Tangerine APT Pensions.
Yahaya holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Usman Danfodio University Sokoto, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration University of Abuja and a Master's in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
Ebenezer Igure is a graduate of Business Administration and Management from the College of Administrative and Business, Studies, Kaduna Polytechnic. He is also an alumnus of the Kaduna Business School, where he obtained an Intermediate Certificate in Credit Risk and Management Analysis. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration. He is also a Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria CILRMN). He is an Associate member of the Risk Managers Society of Nigeria (RIMSON). He is also an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He has attended several courses and capacity training workshops.
He began his career with Habib Bank Limited, where he worked as a Credit and Marketing officer in the Credit Risk Management Department between March 2002 and 2005.
By 2006, he left Bank PHB to join Oceanic, where he headed the Credit Risk Unit at the Regional Office, Asokoro, Abuja.
In 2015, he joined IEI-Anchor Pension Managers Limited as the Head, Enterprise Risk Management Department, where he oversees the global risk profile of the enterprise, reporting to the Board Risk Management Committee. In addition to his core functions, he was also head of the Procurement Committee and Media and Publicity unit of the company and also a member of the Strategy Committee. He is also involved in the change strategy effort of the company. In 2019, He joined Apt Pension Funds Managers Limited, where he heads the Enterprise Risk and Performance Management department.
Mr. Ibrahim is a graduate of Computer Science from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi. He is a seasoned Information Communication Technology expert who has over 13 years working experience in Banking Sector handling Software Development and Electronic Banking Systems. He has acquired series of trainings and workshops within and outside Nigeria which includes: Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) and Microsoft Certified Professional by Microsoft. Ibrahim is also a member of Computer Professional Council of Nigeria.
Shamsuddeen is the Head of Investment of APT Pension Funds Managers Ltd, He has many years’ experience in the capital market and financial services, Prior to joining APT Pension he had served as the MD/CEO of Newdevco investment and securities co. ltd. He has also worked with APT securities and funds ltd where he serve at senior management level with responsibility of developing and implementing business development strategies, portfolio management, Equity trading on the floor of the Nigeria stock exchange. He had a stint with Travelex retail Nigeria ltd as team leader. He also worked with Kano state science and technical schools board.
Shamsuddeen holds a Bachelor’s degree and MBA (Finance & Investment) from Bayero University Kano. Holds a Certificate in international investment management from CISI London. He is associate member-chartered institute of stockbrokers (ACS) and Associate member-chartered institute for securities and investment London (ACSI). He is authorized dealing clerk of the Nigeria stock exchange and registered with Securities and Exchange Commission as broker dealer.
ZANNAH LAWAN is a graduate of Kaduna State Polytechnic where he obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Statistics in the year 2000. He started his career briefly with Borno State Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning as Statistical Officer. Mr. Lawan later moved to former Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) and served as both compliance officer and later as Benefit Officer in Zaria Branch office between 1997 and 2005.

Mr. Lawan joined APT Pensions Funds Managers Ltd. in 2009 where he became North West Regional Manager and he is presently the compliance officer of APT Pension Funds Manger Ltd.
Adeniyi joined AXA Mansard Pensions Limited as Head, Fund Accounts in March 2018. Adeniyi has over 10 years of work experience across Financial/Management Accounting, Financial Reporting, Customer Relationship, People Management, and Fund Accounting management.
Adeniyi’s previous experience includes but is not limited to working with Imurat International Ltd, Bulletin Construction Company Ltd as Head of Account, before moving to Penman Pensions Ltd as Head of Finance, where he was responsible for maintaining proper books of account for the Company and the funds. He was responsible for cash flow projection, treasury management and the submission of various regulatory reports to the National Pension Commission.
Adeniyi holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and he is a fellow of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
Ahmed Baba has over 14 years work experience bothering Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax and Tax Management and Fund Accounting management.
Ahmed joined APT Pensions Funds Manager Limited as Senior Pension Officer I in August 2016. He Deputized the Head of Finance and Accounts until the merger before he was deployed to Fund Accounts as Deputy Head.
Ahmed previous experience cuts across Office of the Accountant General of Kwara State in the Kwara State Ministry of Finance where he worked in the Treasury Department as a Senior Accountant before moving to Apt Pensions Funds. His responsibilities include Tax management and advisory, deputizing the Head of Department in the smooth running of the Department
Ahmed holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and he is a fellow of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Fellow of the Chartered Institute Taxation of Nigeria
Olutoyosi Adewumi started her career with Meristem Registrars Limited in October 2005 as a Front Desk /Operations Officer responsible for customer support until 2010, she joined Oak Pensions Limited as the Head, of Customer Care. As the Head of Customer, she managed over 200,000 clientele while overseeing the customer support team for the Company. In 2012, she was appointed the Ag. Head of Human Resources and Admin for the Company and was responsible for recruitment strategies, planning and management of benefits amongst other things.
In 2016, Olutoyosi Adewumi joined the employment of the defunct AIICO Pension Managers Limited as the Head, Client Services, Registration & Archiving, where she provided leadership for the client service and relationship management amongst other notable operational responsibilities of the PFA. She later moved to FCMB Pensions Limited as the pioneer Head, Client Services Department providing quality and bespoke customer service relationships, coordinating remittance schedule collection and reconciliation. She was also responsible for coordinating funding for positive AUM growth and the design of customer support models for enhanced customer experience.
Olutoyosi holds B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Lagos and M.Sc. in Information Technology, Management and Organizational Change (ITMOC) from the University of Lancaster UK. She also holds Professional Certificate in Projects In Controlled Environments (PRINCE 2).
Usman is a Corporate-Commercial Lawyer, licensed by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, and a Chartered Secretary accredited by the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN). With over 15 years of experience, Usman has established himself as an expert in Company Secretarial practice, Corporate/Commercial Law, Legislative and Regulatory Compliance, and Corporate Governance within the Finance and Manufacturing sectors.
Throughout his career, Usman has provided invaluable legal guidance and administrative support to Boards and company management. He has played a crucial role in navigating complex Merger and Acquisition procedures, ensuring that governance principles are effectively integrated into business frameworks.
In his professional journey, Usman has held significant roles such as Company Secretary/Legal Adviser at PAN Nigeria Limited, and at APT Pension Funds Managers Ltd. His earlier roles include serving as Head of Documentation and Other Risk assets at Jaiz Bank Plc, a Company Secretariat Officer and Legal Officer at UnityBank Plc, a Counsel at A.Y MUSA & Co., and a Law Lecturer at Ameer Shehu Idris College of Advanced Studies.
Academically, Usman holds an LL.B in Civil Law, a B.L., a Professional Certificate in Computer Application Packages, a PECB ISO 22301 Lead Implementer Certification, and an LL.M in Corporate Governance & Finance Law. He is an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the Risk Management Association of Nigeria (RIMAN), and ICSAN.
